Be Happy – Do That!

Pete the catI have discovered a new hero: Pete the Cat. Not having kids, we never watch cartoons at our house so I’d never even heard of the “groovy” feline. Not finding anything worth watching the other night, hubby pulled up an episode and we watched it. The message was so simple, and yet so profound: Find what makes you happy, and do that! (Not in sin of course, but in work, hobbies, talents, etc.) I was reminded of what a mentor said in a writing class I took years ago. “Find what you do, and do it well.” We may have to try several things before we get it, or that thing may change over time or in different seasons of life. Don’t worry about what everyone else is doing – just do you! Whether that means book nerd or world traveler, be that awesomely, creative, unique individual God created you to be. LIVE your life. You only get one, and it is incredibly short. You are the writer of your story. Write it well.

Nothing Hidden!

CCTV monitoring centre in Tower Hamletts London. There is a current uproar about Facebook leaking or outright selling users’ private information. We wonder if all of our activity is being monitored by our Government. Who really knows what information has been tracked? What if I were to tell you that every single thing you have ever done, said, or even thought since birth, has been recorded? Hebrews 4:13 tells us that “there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” Again, “Can anyone hide himself in secret places, so I shall not see him?” says the Lord; (Jer. 23:24) “He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?” (Pvbs. 24:12) After meeting Jesus face to face, the woman at the well exclaimed, “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” (John 4:29)

The GOOD news is that while our Heavenly Father knows every secret thought or deed, He loves us anyway! And if we’ve repented and accepted Jesus as our Savior, nothing in our pasts will be used against us. It’s ALL forgiven and under the Blood! THAT’s a King I am not afraid to serve. Praise His Name!
